Ohio Pastor Announces Second Wife, Embraces Polygamy!!!!

According to the New York Post, a self-described prophet who pastors a church in the Cleveland, Ohio area stood up with his wife in front of the congregation and introduced a second wife, a minister in the church, whom he has been married to for about three years. His first wife introduced her from the platform as her sister in marriage, and the screen behind them called it a kingdom marriage. Listen to the charismatic language in that clip: our prophet, in the spirit, the will of God.

It is not legal, and it is not biblical. 1 Timothy 3:2 says a bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife. Some take that verse to be about divorce and remarriage and some take it to be about polygamy, but either way this man is disqualified from overseeing any New Testament church.

Ephesians 4:11 says God gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. The charismatic world calls that the fivefold ministry, but the apostles and prophets are gone because the New Testament church has been established. Nobody alive today has seen the risen Christ or been handpicked by Him, and if there were true prophets today, their words would carry the same authority as John 3:16. Today we have evangelists, pastors, and teachers.

I believe this kind of thing is going to be promoted more and more. When the Apostle Paul and his epistles come under attack, people go back under the Old Testament, and things like the qualifications of a bishop and the New Testament church get thrown out. That is a major doctrinal shift, and Bible-believing Christians need to be ready to answer it.
